Update: Childcare - Kindergarten through 5th Grade
The City of Scotts Valley is pleased to partner with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County and the Scotts Valley Unified School District to provide an after school childcare option for the 2021-2022 school year for Vine Hill and Brook Knoll Elementary students.
Details and registration are forthcoming this week (week of August 2nd) but we can share that the program will offer childcare for both Vine Hill and Brook Knoll students who are enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th grade (this includes Kindergarteners who are 5 years of age).
The Boys and Girls Clubs plans to open registration this week. As soon as we have details about how to register, we will share those on this webpage.
Thank you for your patience while we worked through this partnership to bring this critical service to our families!

Status of City of Scotts Valley Parks and Recreation Facilities (Update: 3/17/21)
Over the last year, City residents have made great changes in their daily lives to adapt to COVID-19 restrictions. The City of Scotts Valley also had to make significant changes to our Recreation operations and offerings for the safety and wellbeing of our community. We thank you for your patience and understanding during these tumultuous times! And while we are eager to welcome you back into our facilities and fields when it is safe to do so, we must follow State and County mandates on what is allowed. We are providing this update to apprise you of the status of Recreation and what is, and is not yet, allowed at this time.
We will post updates on the status of our facilities and programs on the City’s Parks and Recreation page as information evolves.

Scotts Valley Parks and Recreation Updates (3/17/21):
Skypark Fields: With the use of Skypark as the CZU Complex Wildfire CalFire Basecamp in 2020, the park fields endured substantial damage that needs to be repaired before the fields can be safely for recreation. The City is in the process of contracting for repairs, but it will be at least summer before the fields are available for recreational use. Please remain off of the fields until the work has been completed. We have signed the fields as off limits and are adding snow fencing to keep you safe.
Gatherings in City of Scotts Valley Parks: At this time, per State mandate, outdoor gatherings are limited to three households. The skatepark, playgrounds and public restrooms continue to be open. We encourage all park users to strictly practice COVID-prevention protocols.
Youth and Recreational Adult Sports: The City has worked out a solution for all of our Spring 2021 leagues to share in the use of Siltanen Park until Skypark comes back online. Thank you for the wonderful flexibility and support from our League partners!
City Facility Rentals: As of 3/17/21, the City will now start accepting rentals for public facilities in our parks. Please note that rentals can be for no more than three households to comply with COVID-19 regulations. We will continue to assess the regulations and will post any changes in what is allowed under public health guidance.
Reminder to practice social distancing: When going out in public, remember to stay six feet away from others outside of your household, wear a mask, and wash your hands frequently. Gatherings of more than three households is NOT permitted, even outside.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support while we adapt to our changing circumstances.
